Party building should coordinate with people and social development
Since the 18th CPC National Congress in 2012, "comprehensively and strictly governing the Party" has been included in the strategic blueprint.
With Comrade Xi Jinping as the core, the CPC has gained remarkable achievement in punishing corruption as well as building a strict appointment and management system in the past five years, which leads to high evaluation and support from the public.
Although the CPC has gained profound progress, President Xi stressed strict and comprehensive governance of the Party remains an arduous task, because China is standing at a new historical starting point.
“Only by constantly enhancing Party governance can we successfully lead the people in handling new challenges, overcome new obstacles and solve new contradictions, achieving one victory after another,” said Xi.
Stick to correct political direction
Sticking to the correct political direction is a fundamental step to strengthen the Party governance. Aiming high in an increasingly complicated environment, the CPC and its members should have stronger faith in their political standpoint, and should not be easily disturbed under any circumstance.
And it is always the correct political direction to firmly uphold the authority as well as the leadership of the CPC Central Committee with comrade Xi Jinping as the core, to ensure the CPC's lines, principles, policies and decisions be implemented, to ensure the connection between the CPC and the public.
Tackle problems of public concern
To push forward comprehensive and strict governance, the CPC should form a problem-solving orientated mindset, and pay great efforts to solve the prominent problems that are of public concern and threatening the Party’s ruling foundation.
When talking about Party governance, President Xi never hesitates to point out the problems. He said some government officers still neglected the Party discipline despite of constant emphasis, and some anti-corruption efforts were relaxed to deter fresh cases from emerging.
To foster the problem-solving oriented mindset, the CPC should attach high importance to the existing problems of its members’ behavior and political ideology, strengthen regulation on the discipline of its members and organizations, and impose anti-corruption campaign that cover all sectors and zero tolerance will be shown to violators.
Treat both symptoms and root causes
Treating both symptoms and root causes is a consistent requirement of the CPC’s Party governance. More specifically, President Xi Jinping said the Party should emphasize discipline regulation as well as the members’ self-supervision.
On the one hand, the Party should advance reforms to the state supervisory system, and urged discipline inspection commissions at all levels to strengthen its discipline regulation and intra-Party governance.
On the other, the Party should enhance their leadership and ability of administration, so as to strengthen its members’ political faith and ability of self-supervision.
Guangdong is taking action
Xi urged Party officials to conform with the CPC Central Committee both in thoughts and actions, as well as to implement the CPC Central Committee's major policies without reservations.
Standing at the new historical starting pointing, Guangdong must follow President Xi Jinping’s instructions, withstand the “four ordeals” (governance, reform and opening-up, market-oriented economy, external environment) and be on guard against the “four risks” (loafing spirit, inadequate capability, isolated from the people, negative and corrupt phenomena), deeply and perseveringly promote strict party governance with stronger willpower and acuter awareness, ensure the party dedicates its soul and mind to the people and relies on the people, so as to make greater contribution to realizing the country’s “two centenary goals” and the Chinese dream of great national renewal.
