WITH FIFA World Cup Russia 2018 just 11 days away, China Media Group will be sending more than 140 journalists to cover the quadrennial soccer tournament June 14 - July 15.
China Media Group is building a dazzling studio for CCTV just 100 meters from the Red Square. The two-story studio, overlooking Saint Basil's Cathedral, will be completed June 5 and put into use June 10.

Shen Haixiong, deputy head of the Publicity Department of the Central Committee of the CPC and head of China Media Group, inspected the studio June 1.
FIFA World Cup Russia would be the first major international event to be covered by China Media Group, he said. He encouraged the reporters covering the event to create amazing products, saying that previous work of China Media Group had demonstrated great innovation and cohesion.
China National Radio, China Radio International and China Central Television will work together to cover the event on multiple channels and in multiple venues, in a bid to present the best and the most updated games to audience from all over the world.
All the 64 games will be played in 12 venues located in 11 cities across Russia and live-streamed via CCTV-5, CCTV-5+ and CCTV-1. The final will take place July 15 at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow. (Yang Mei)
