中国梦的味道 （双语）

 

  What is "Chinese Dream"? Mr Xi Jinpin says, "In my opinion, to realize the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation is the greatest dream of modern China" .

 

  近代以来，中国由盛而衰，并屡遭外侵。中国人心中“五味杂陈”。从一开 始，中国梦便与“味道”有关：正因备尝屈辱的“苦楚”，才更渴望扬眉吐气的 “甘甜”。 “甘甜”，是复兴的味道，是中国梦的味道。

 

  Throughout the modern times, China saw its turn from prosperity to decline, and has been through several invasions. Chinese people felt mixed emotions on the rises and falls of the nation. From the very beginning, Chinese Dream has been related to "taste". Because of the "bitterness" of humiliation in history, Chinese people long for the "sweetness" of being proud and elated. Sweetness, is the taste of rejuvenation and the taste of Chinese Dream.

 

  这味道，在梦里，在心里，朝思暮念，须臾难忘。“甘甜”是什么？民族独立、国富兵强、民生幸福、受人尊重……

 

  This taste exists in dreams and in hearts.This taste has be yearned for day and night .No one would forget. What is “sweetness”? It is national independece,national wealth and powerful miliatry, happy livelihood, high esteem …

 

  为通往“甘甜”，清国君臣上马，民国名流冲锋，“海国图志”，“洋务运动”，“戊戌变法”，“建国方略”……无不渴望找到民族复兴之路。皆有进步，却举步维艰。中共成立，更是将求索“复兴”视为己任。而今，中国找到了“复兴之路”——中国特色社会主义道路。

 

  For obtaining “sweetness”,the emperors and officials of Qing dynasty opened the chapters,celebrities of the Chinese Republic made progress.Haiguotuzhi ,Westernization Movement ,Wuxu Reform, The International Development of China … Everyone was eager to figure out the way of National rejuvenation. Progress had been made while difficulties existed. Since its founding, the CPC deemed it its duty to search for the answer of rejuvenation. Now, China finds the Road to Rivival——the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics .

 

  时代进步，“甘甜”升级。中共十八大报告中，“甘甜”是“五位一体”：经济发展、政治昌明、文化繁荣、社会和谐、生态文明。之于国家，“甘甜”是“两个一百年”：中共建党100年，中国全面小康；新中国成立100年，全面实现中国特色社会主义现代化。

 

  As the era advances, “sweetness” upgrades. In the report to the Eighteenth National Congress , “sweetness” is “Five in One”: economic growth, political development,cultural prosperity,social harmony, and ecological civilization. For the nation, sweetness is two “One hundred year”:on the 100 anniversary of the CPC,China will build the all-round well-off society; on the 100 anniversay of new China, China would fully realize the socialist modernization with Chinese characteristics.

 

  之于个人，荷包里，“甘甜”是“收入倍增”；饭桌上，“甘甜”是吃得放心；环境上，“甘甜”是美丽中国，秀色可餐；生活上，“甘甜”是日子越过越好；出了国门，“甘甜”是共享做中国人的荣耀和自豪……

 

  On an individual level, “sweetness”means rapid income growth ; on the table, “sweetness”means people can east safety food; on the environment, “sweetness”stands for beautiful China with attractive sceneries; on life, “sweetness”is better life; on abroad,“sweetness”equals sharing the honor and pride of being a Chinese……

 

  通往“甘甜”，中国还要备尝另外两种味道。一是海水的味道。中共十八大报告提出，建设海洋强国。 二是汗水的味道，中国需要努力。

 

  On the journey to "sweetness", China should expect another two tastes as well. One is the taste of "seawater". The report to the Eighteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China emphasised the task of making a great sea power. In order to fulfill this task, China should be ready for another taste, that is "sweat". China needs to strive for a great future!

 

  通往“甘甜”，走向复兴，从来不是一帆风顺。就今日而言，中国还要备尝另外两种味道。

 

  ——海水的味道。复兴的中华，必须走向深蓝。中共十八大报告提出，建设海洋强国。“提高海洋资源开发能力，发展海洋经济，保护海洋生态环境，坚决维护国家海洋权益”——寥寥三十几字的目标，却需经历多少风浪，尽尝多少海水，方能实现。

 

  ——汗水的味道。梦想流于口水，寡淡无味，庸人自乱。梦想多流汗水，才苦中有甜。“不干，半点马克思主义都没有。”“空谈误国，实干兴邦”。唯有实干，才撑起中国梦。

 

  On the road to “sweetness” and National rejuvenation , the ride has never been entirely smooth. For now, China has to taste another two flavors

 

  —— The taste of the sea.Rejuvenative China has to move towards the deep blue. The CPC’s report at 18th Party Congress mentions the construction of powerful marine nation. “Enhance capacity for exploiting marine resources, develop the marine economy, protect the marine ecological environment, resolutely safeguard China's maritime rights and interests”—— Less than 40 Chinese words requires for weathering heavy storm and tasting plenty of seawater .

 

  —— The taste of the sweat. Dreams will tend to fall flat if there is only empty talk. “If there is no action, then there is no Marxism.”“Empty talk injuries the country, hard work rejuvenates the nation.”Only action could support the Chinese dream.

 

  实干才有了深圳的奇迹，才有了“经济第二”的赶超。中华民族是个注重“实干”的民族。“中国梦”的每一步实现，从来不是靠空口白牙，“人世间的一切幸福都要靠辛勤的劳动来创造”。“摸着石头过河”是实干，“改革开放”是实干，迎战金融危机也是实干……

 

  Only solid work could create Shenzhen Miracle and the China’s No.2 status in the world’s economic pecking order. Chinese nation emphasizes the importance of pragmatic behaviours. Each step of the realization of “Chinese Dream” never depends on empty talk. All of the happiness shall rely on hard work. “Crossing a river by feeling the stones”is hard work,“The Reform and Opening”is hard work, also greeting the financial crisis is hard work…

 

  由强而弱易，由弱而强难。通往“中国梦”的路上，有汗水有海水，有心血有泪光，有酸甜的探索，也有苦辣的历程。在这途中，汗水的味道，让“甘甜”来得更扎实，更有滋味。

 

  It is easy to go through from strong to weak, while difficult to go through from weak to strong.
